Home Economics has been part of my story for generations.

I'm the fourth generation in a family passionate about practical life skills. My great-grandmother earned a degree in Home Economics in 1916. My grandmother embodied the art of homemaking as the wife of an Army Colonel. My parents modeled and taught  home management  with their DIY spirit.  Their influence planted seeds that continued to grow when I took my very first Home Economics class in middle school. From that moment on, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.

That passion led me to earn a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics & California Single Subject Teaching Credential(grades 7–12), a K–8 Multiple Subject Authorization, and a Montessori teaching certificate. Throughout my career, I've been blessed to receive the Kent Award for innovative teaching, recognized as Employee of the Year at Rolling Hills Middle School, and awarded numerous grants for creating hands-on learning experiences that inspire confidence and creativity.

While teaching has always been my profession, helping people build confidence has always been my calling.

My husband and I are high school sweethearts celebrating 30 years of marriage; together we’ve raised four wonderful children. Through every season of life, I’ve seen firsthand how practical life skills create stronger, more confident individuals and healthier homes.

Grab My Apron is the next exciting chapter in that journey.

Whether you’re learning to cook, grow a backyard garden, manage a household, gain independent living skills, or simply try something new, my goal is to create a welcoming place where people of all ages feel encouraged to learn. I believe the best learning happens when it’s hands-on, practical, and shared with others. Our classes are designed to spark curiosity, build the confidence to say, “I can do this myself,” and celebrate every success along the way.

At Grab My Apron, we’re not just teaching life skills—we’re building confidence, creating community, and discovering the joy of making a home, whatever that looks like in your stage of life.

Learn it. Live it.
